Writing a Paragraph – A Puzzle Strategy

To write a paragraph think of it as putting a puzzle together. Use COLORS to help you put the parts of the paragraph together. Be sure to STACK your sentences because it will help you to see if you are following the order. When you are pleased with the paragraph, then unstack the sentences. TA DA!

STEP #1 LOOK at the PROMPT to understand the topic of your writing.

STEP #2 GATHER the evidence in the reading or text that will help to prove your point.

STEP #3 USE XXXs to hold a place for your thoughts until you’re ready to write that sentence.
